장혜지 박사의 연구는 비구조화된 문제 해결 과정을 지원하기 위해 개념적 및 메타인지적 스캐폴딩을 제공하는 생성형 AI 챗봇 'Probot'을 개발하고, 그 효과성을 검증하였습니다. 이를 통해 생성형 AI 기반 스캐폴딩과 학습자 간의 상호작용 양상, 문제 해결 성과, 학습자 인식의 변화를 다각도로 탐색하였으며, 비구조화된 문제 해결 맥락에서 생성형 AI를 활용한 개념적·메타인지적 스캐폴딩 지원 설계를 위한 이론적·실천적 기반을 제시하였습니다.
The dissertation of Dr. Hyeji Jang, an alumna of IDL Lab, titled "Development and Evaluation of a Generative AI Chatbot for Scaffolding in Ill-Structured Problem Solving," has received the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Korean Society for Educational Technology. This award is presented to doctoral dissertations in the field of educational technology in Korea that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement through excellent research contributions.
Dr. Jang’s research developed and evaluated "Probot," a generative AI chatbot designed to provide conceptual and metacognitive scaffolding for learners engaged in ill-structured problem solving. Through this work, the study explored learners' interaction patterns with generative AI-based scaffolding, problem-solving performance, and learner perceptions from multiple perspectives. The research further established theoretical and practical foundations for designing conceptual and metacognitive scaffolding support using generative AI in ill-structured problem-solving contexts.
